Fipronil – contamination in Eggs

Recently there has been an outbreak of Fipronil contamination in Chicken eggs and egg by products over in Europe and Hong Kong.

Fipronil is an insecticide which is commonly used as an active ingredient for flea and pest control.

Based on Australia New Zealand Food Standard Code Australia our Maximum Residue Limit (MRL) is 0.02mg per kg.

Agrifood Technology has the capability to analyse for Fipronil under GCMS. Our limit of reporting is <0.010 mg per kg.
